10:00am to 1:00pm

Studio Georgeville
20, Carré Copp
Georgeville, Québec

Can a map tell a story? Can it reveal something about human experience? Whose experience is represented in a map, whose experience is missing?

Many contemporary artists have examined the traditions of map making and deconstructed, critiqued, and reformulated mapmaking as an artistic work.

We will look at some examples of how artists have engaged with map making and consider the limitations of cartographic conventions. Then we will make a map of our own – breaking traditional conventions. No artistic ability is necessary.

In English and French – all materials supplied.

Beware, the workshop may cause you to think differently about maps!
