A Love Story in 51 Transactions, is a chapbook published by Sona Books in Chicago.
This work is about those ubiquitous sales receipts in our pockets and wallets. These wrinkled, seemingly inconsequential, pieces of paper reveal some of the most intimate of details about our lives. Cash receipts, credit card slips, and debit card transaction records – these all tell a very specific kind of truth about our passions and behaviours. A love story – two characters, traced entirely through their financial transactions. Love and credits ensue.

"I'm very interested in the physical experience of making stuff—and for several years this has involved using my hands to manipulate paint or wire or paper —but this project felt totally different in my body."
The receipts are entirely of my own invention—I secured the equipment to make them myself—to tell a story via the transactions.
